They’ve been at it since elementary school, developing a friendship that has translated on to the tennis courts leading to great success over the years and the Sabetha Bluejay tandem is off to another great start in their senior seasons.

The Bluejay doubles team of Amy Wysong and Ellie Montgomery great friendship, trust and competiveness is on display every time they hit the court and last week helped lead them to a 10-0 mark in competition as the Bluejays competed in three competitions.

Week started with a first place team performance by the Bluejays team at the Wamego Invitational with Amy and Ellie leading the way going a perfect 3-0 in doubles competition number one. After that performance is was quick turnaround for the Bluejays as they hosted a quad competition the next day and it was another perfect night for Amy and Ellie going 3-0 yet again. This time the tandem breezed through the competition with 7-1, 7-1 and 7-0 wins in competition against Immaculata, Hiawatha and Hayden.

Riding momentum the lady Bluejays looked to continue their success on Saturday at the Hiawatha Invite and that they did behind the leadership and success on the court of Amy and Ellie who breezed through pool play action with 7-2, 7-0 and 7-1 wins to take on Perry Lecompton in the first place match of the doubles number one competition and flew by the Kaws with a 7-0 win and 4-0 day.

Behind the 10-0 week the senior tandem is off to a 14-3 start to their season with a return trip surely on their minds this season.

Competitiveness, drive, friendship, trust and leadership have all been displayed by Amy and Ellie on the court for the Bluejays helping them to a strong start to the season for themselves and their team as they look to finish out their high school career with a strong season.
