Nakita Lawrence of Sabetha is heading back to the 4-1A State Wrestling Tournament for a second consecutive year.

The Bluejays sophomore won the Regional Championship on Saturday at Rossville at 135. It’s been a fantastic season for Nakita from the jump as she started the season 5-1 and finished second at the Fairbury Nebraska Invitational.

She won the Santa Fe Trail Mixer and finished third at the Rock Creek tournament.

Nakita was a state qualifier last season as a freshman and has a chance to make another run this season. She’ll enter the 4-1A State Tournament with a record of 19-4 and that will be held Feb. 22nd-23rd in Salina.
