Harper Whetstine

Troy sophomore Harper Whetstine has had a tremendous start to the basketball season. Leading the Trojans through the first two games of the season which has included a near upset over a top-tier team and a buzzer beater win.

In a 33-30 loss to 2A #2 Riverside in the season opener, Harper led the Trojans with 19 points, five steals, four rebounds, and two assists. Last week at Hiawatha, Harper exploded for 24 points, 10 rebounds, nine steals, three assists, and she hit a game-winning three-pointer as time expired to give them a 48-47 win over the Redhawks.

Harper broke the Troy school record last season for three-point percentage at 42% on 115 attempts. She averaged over 14 points, six rebounds, and four assists per game as a freshman and was named First Team All-League.
