Xiomar Hernandez

The Atchison boys basketball team is off to a 5-0 start and are currently ranked #3 in Class 4A in the latest rankings from the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association.

Xiomar Hernandez had a fantastic week for the Phoenix averaging 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game in wins over Ottawa and Sumner Academy.

Atchison beat Sumner 90-40 on Friday and Xiomar was one assist shy of a triple-double finishing with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists.

Atchison has scored at least 70 or more points in four of their five games this season and are averaging 73.4 points per game.

Xiomar also helped the Atchison football team to a 10-1 season and Meadowlark Conference title. He was named the Meadowlark Conference Special Teams Player of the Year.
