Six NEKL Teams & ACCHS Compete in McLouth Track Invite

Six Northeast Kansas League teams along with ACCHS and a few other area teams competed against each other back on Friday at the McLouth track Invite.

All seven area teams took home at least one first place individual event medal on the day’s action with three area athlete's winning multiple events.

Horton Chargers, Derrick Stone and Trey Dishon were two of those athlete's bringing home a pair of gold medals each as Stone leapt his way to the win in the long jump (18'07) and tossed his way to a win in the javelin (135'09), while Dishon tossed his way to the gold in both the shot put (48'10) and discus (130'00.10).

Maur Hill-Mount Academy Raven, Nick Caudle was the only other area athlete to earn a pair of first place finishes, placing first in the 400 meter dash (53.27) and triple jump (40'03.05). Jack Siebert also grabbed a first place finish for the Ravens winning the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:05.52, while the Ravens boy’s 4x100 meter relay team won gold, too behind a time of 45.27. Mary Colwell finished first in the girls javelin for Maur Hill, posting a winning toss of 97'09.50.

Both Oskaloosa and ACCHS each had four first place finishes at the McLouth Invitational on Friday. For Oskaloosa Maddy Miller and Brittni Pryor each registered first place showings in the girl’s discus (100'09) and girls high jump (4'09), while Tommy Molder and Dillon Grother posted first place finishes in the boys 200 meter dash (24.11) and boys 110 meter hurdles (17.28).

The ACCHS Tigers were led by three first place finishes in girls competition as Madison Bissell posted a time of 2:35.11 to win the 800 meter run, while Beba Scholz won the 3200 meter run behind a time of 12:47.43 and the lady Tigers 4x800 meter relay team notched a time of 10:44.71 to claim the gold. Josh Weaver also won a gold medal for ACCHS by posting a leap of 6'00 to win the high jump.

Jefferson County North Chargers grabbed three first place finishes all in girl’s action as the Chargers won the 4x400 and 4x100 meter relays with times of 4:25.49 and 54.50, while Gabbi George won the shot put with a toss of 33'09.25.

Immaculata and McLouth each had one first place finisher as Sarah O'Neil for Immaculata and Jack Arnett of McLouth each won the 300 meter hurdles, posting times of 53.93 and 44.30, respectively.
