Maur Hill & Immaculata Lead Area Performances at Atchison Boys Golf Invite

Teams broke out the golf clubs on Thursday as Atchison host boys golf action and for the area teams it was Maur Hill-Mount Acadmey and Immaculata leading the way with the best performances. 

KC Piper claimed the top team score with a 325, winning by 23-strokes but Maur Hill took second place as a team with a 347 team score. The Ravens just edged DeSoto out for second by one-stroke, while Immaculata took fourth place with a team score of 358 beating out Holton by three-strokes giving the Wildcats fifth place on the day. Hiawatha and Atchison also competed from the area taking 11th and 12th as teams out of 12 teams carding team scores of 443 and 479, respectively. 

Individually Evan Wheaton of Immaculata had the best area performance taking third place with an 80, finishing behind a pair of golfers from KC Piper. Dawson Schroeder, Ian Wheaton and Justin Varney finsihed out the Raiders team score with rounds of 89, 93 and 96, while Jacob Murphy also was in action carding a 110. 

Maur Hill on their way to second place as a team had a pair of Top 10 finishers on the day as Daniel DeLuna and Canyon Miller finished fifth and tenth place with rounds of 82 and 87 for the Ravens. Sam Sowers and Christian Wessel finished out the Ravens four-man team score each posting rounds of 89, while Patrick Sullivan and Nolan Dulac also competed for Maur Hill carding rounds of 94 and 108. 

Holton Wildcats were led by an 89 by Austen Shepley and pair of 90's on the day by AJ Haussler and Hayden May with a 92 by Kaden Brandt finished out the Wildcats four-man team score for the day. Brian Nelson and Riley Shepley also competed for Holton posting rounds of 97 and 100. 

Tom Nolte had the best round for Hiawatha on the day with a 106, while Atchison was led by Jase Nelson who carded a 108.
