Despite going just 13 of 28 from the free throw line, Brooke Willcott went 2-2 from the stripe with 13 seconds remaining and that was enough despite a last second shot by Chapman for Holton to earn a tough road victory in their final non-conference game. The game was tight throughout with the Lady Irish having the biggest lead of the game at 9-4 including a long banked three-pointer to end the first quarter.

BOYS = Chapman 55, Holton 50

The story of this game was the missing players for Holton. Because of illness that has been going through the team the past few weeks, Holton was minus two key starters and four of their top eight players. The Wildcats fell down early 8-1 and trailed 15-4 before scoring 11 straight points to tie the game early in the second stanza.

Holton never trailed by more than seven points in the second half but could never make enough of a push to take the lead. Tyson Snyder had a four-point possession that included a technical foul on Chapman to make it 53-50 with 54 seconds left, but the Cats were empty on their final possessions.

Snyder scored 23 points and Parker Crouch had 13 while Ashton Schrick added 8. Holton had four guys playing with four fouls throghhout the fourth quarter, with only 7 guys that saw the court and only 9 suited up for varsity and fell to 8-5 on the season with their third loss in the last four games.

Chapman was 2-10 with a pair of wins by three total points but got a big first half from freshman Kelan Gruver with 13 of his 15 points including three triples and Weston Langvardt was a beast inside with 14 points. Ian Suther added 9 points as the Irish improved to 3-10 despite going just 10 of 24 from the free throw line.
