Falls City Boys Advance to State Tournament

 (KLZA) -- The 8th ranked Falls City Tigers have qualified for the Nebraska Class C-1 Boys basketball tournament which begins Thursday, March 13th.  The Tigers will play at the Devaney Sports Center.  Their opponent is not yet known.

Monday night the Tigers defeated 2nd ranked Lincoln Christian in a hard fought 37-36 game at Nebraska City.  The game was tied twice but had 13 lead changes including three in the fourth quarter.

Tiger Senior Mitchell Harling who surpassed the 1,000 point career mark in the game hit the final Falls City basket with 7.1 seconds left in the game.  A final shot by the Crusaders was long and the Tigers fans celebrated for nearly and hour after the game. 

Weston Witt came off the Tiger bench to lead the Tigers attack with 16 points including four, 3-point baskets.  Jordy Stoller scored 8 for Falls City.

The Tiger defense held the Crusaders Logan Power 10 points under his season average with 11 points.  Senior Evan Mathers added 10.
