Falls City and Syracuse Compete in Track At Ashland-Greenwood

The Falls City track teams competed at Ashland-Greenwood Friday in the Ashland Rotary Club Invitational.

Gretna won the girls team title with 118.5 points, Syracuse was third with 81, Falls City was seventh with 13.

Syracuse won the boys team title with 147 points, Falls City was fourth with 71. 

The Tiger boys won two events.  Tucker Merz won the discus and Ben Bauman was third.  In the shot, Bauman won the event with Merz placing fourth.  

Lee Huettner was second in the long jump and the triple jump.  Falls City also picked up fourth in the 4 x 800 meter relay. 

Zach Jordending was second in the high jump. Lucas Kirkendall was third in the 110 meter hurdles and sixth in the 300 meter hurdles. 

For Syracuse Tanner Harsin was second in the 400; and won the 1600 meters.

Jameson Bennett was second in the 800.  Cody Pester was second in the 3200;  Braxtyn DeGolyer was second in the 300 meter hurdles and won the 110 meter hurdles;  Jake Heitkamp won the high jump and the triple jump.

Peyton Harson was the winner in the pole vault.  

Syracuse also won the 4 x 100 meter relay and the 4 x 400 relay.  The Rockets were second in the 4 x 800 relay.  

In the girls events Falls City points were scored by Krystal Samqua with a fourth place finish in the pole vault; Laney Larsen was fifth in the 3200 and Mary Patnode was sixth in the same event. 

The Tiger 4 x 800 relay team placed third.  

For the Rockets of Syracuse Sara Antes was first and Hannah Esch was second in the pole vault;  Sydney Lintner was second in the triple jump and third in the 400 meter dash;  Arici Prater was third in the shot put;
